The Esports Federation of India (ESFI) director Lokesh Suji on Friday welcomed the Worldwide Olympic Committee’s choice to host the Olympic Esports Games up coming calendar year, saying that it will elevate the status of the promptly-expanding game and bring “increased prospect” to the gamers. The IOC has announced a partnership with the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Saudi Arabia to organise the inaugural Olympic Esports Games in 2025. The IOC has followed up on its previous announcement that its Executive Board had laid the groundwork for a standalone multi-countrywide event in the form of the Olympic Esports Video games.

A proposal will be floated in the upcoming IOC session on the eve of the Paris Olympics, wherever the venue, timings, titles to be provided and the qualification approach will be disclosed for the Olympic Esports Video games.

“This determination marks a substantial milestone in the world-wide recognition and expansion of esports, offering a prestigious system for athletes from close to the world to showcase their abilities on an unparalleled phase,” reported Suji, who is also the vice-president of the Asian Esports Federation (AESF).

“Eventually, esports at the Olympics — this is the news we have all been waiting around for. We thank the leadership and the total IOC for reworking our dreams into truth,” he included.

Suji mentioned the Olympic Esports Game titles will convey much more possibilities to the gamers. “This improvement not only elevates the status of esports but also paves the way for increased possibilities and assist for gamers and fanatics in India and past,” he additional.
